Unknown chemical sprayed by GrabTaxi driver to a woman passenger while traveling along Ayala Avenue in Makati City. The modus operandi was immediately reported to the GrabTaxi services.
Several incidents of the alleged GrabTaxi drivers spraying unknown substances to their women passengers instantly became viral on social media. In the most recent similar issue involving a cab driver spraying a toxic gas, thousands of netizens are again reacting to the modus operandi.
A woman identified as Netizen Deej Dayola openly shared her traumatic experience when she decided to take a ride using the GrabTaxi services from SM Makati. The netizen specified on social media that around 6:30p.m. she approached an attendant in a Grab Taxi kiosk to get a cab reservation. Knowing that the famous taxi service always brag their strict screening of cab drivers, Dayola opted to continue to use their service. In no time, she was able to book a cab with car plate number UVP 906 JRL.
When the driver arrived, the GrabTaxi attendant escorted the passenger to the taxi and verified the name of the chaffeur. The driver was Joel Lapira.
When the vehicle was starting to move, she immediately noticed that something was sprayed somewhere in the car. Dayola heard two consecutive sound generated by the spray bottle. Feeling that she is already in danger, Dayola immediately tried to contact her mother and gave the details of the car’s plate number. During that instance, she already felt some numbness on her finger tips.
Though she was already alarmed and was fighting her fear, she managed to notice the exact street to where they were heading to. A few minutes later, Dayola again noticed a weird spray sound and she smelled a strange scent causing her to feel dizzy. She also mentioned in her post that she was struggling to breathe.
Thinking that things can go worse, Dayola asked the GrabTaxi driver to pull over at Ayala Stock Exchange and she gave a P100-peso bill to the driver.
While in Makati City, the victim called the hotline number of GrabTaxi support to report the incident but to no avail. The infuriated victim who was still having a hard time in breathing decided to send an email complaint. Dayola was really determined to report the spray modus operandi of the GrabTaxi driver in Makati city. A certain employee responded to the report and fully acknowledged the issue. However, she was requested to undergo medical test to validate if she indeed inhaled a harmful substance from the spray bottle used by the GrabTaxi driver.
